Adult Education

Rabbi Laurie teaches a variety of adult education classes. We value learning and believe that in order to remain a vibrant community, it is important that we continue to learn and to grow.

Rabbi Laurie has taught a series of classes focusing on expanding members’ basic skills such as how to read Hebrew and understanding the Shabbat morning service. She has also taught many classes on the themes of Judaism and social justice, Reconstructionism and Jewish Renewal, interfaith relationships, Jewish practice and halachah, and prayer and spirituality.

Rabbi Laurie also co-teaches, with other Madison rabbis, an Introduction to Judaism class.

Other members of the congregation also teach classes throughout the year. Past classes include Chanting Torah, Writing an Ethical Will, Hebrew Bible, and Meditation.

All classes are free for members; there is a minimal fee for non-members.
