2019-20 Membership Renewal Form

It’s the time of year when trees absorb the last warm rays of summer sun, apples gather their final sweetness before harvest, our thoughts turn to planning for the High Holidays, and Shaarei Shamayim asks you to renew your commitment to our community.

Shaarei Shamayim is an inclusive congregation. Together we have created a space where we connect to our Judaism and community, educate our families and ourselves, celebrate lifecycle events, and work together to create a better world. We believe that we have an opportunity to create a rich and diverse community while turning no one away for economic reasons.

However, doing this means we all have to do our part through renewing our memberships, paying our fair share, donating a little extra when we can, and volunteering when we are able to do so.

Next month we will welcome the Jewish year 5780. The year will start with our traditional rituals, but it will also represent a financial turning point for our congregation. We are embarking on a campaign to build a healthy and independent financial future that we call “Sustaining Our Future.” This is new ground, but we set forth on this project carefully with a lot of input from our members. You will be hearing more from us about the campaign in the coming months. We invite you to contribute as much as you are able to help us thrive for decades to come.

Our community is strong, healthy and growing because of the commitment each of you has made through financial support and volunteer time. As you start to plan for the fall, we ask you to renew your membership, consult the dues schedule to assure you are paying your share, and consider digging just a bit deeper to allow us to continue to grow, thrive, and serve the community in the coming years.

Please consider a 5% increase in your dues in order to help us sustain our future.

Annual financial commitments are Shaarei Shamayim's main source of revenue. They fund our staff salaries, adult and youth education, social action projects, ritual services, and holiday celebrations. Your financial commitment is based on your individual gross income. Please see our dues guidelines below. Membership runs from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020.
