Our Services
Our services combine traditional prayers with contemporary poetry, readings, and songs. We are participatory, and our members lead various elements of the service, share English readings, chant Torah and Haftarah, and blow shofar. This year our services will be similar to past years. Feel free to take breaks and log in and out throughout. In order to receive Zoom links, you must register in advance.

We will have youth programming for all ages over Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. On Erev Rosh Hashanah we will hold a Rosh Hashanah seder geared to families with children ten and under. On Yom Kippur, we will have a tot service for children 0-5 years of age, a children’s service for kindergarten through 5th graders, and discussions for 6th-8th graders and 9th-12th graders.

During the afternoon of Yom Kippur, our Yizkor service provides space for individuals to remember loved ones who have passed away. As always, we will also have our Avodah program. This is an opportunity for participants to share poetry, songs, or any other offerings for the community.

Our High Holiday Cantor, Shira Stanford-Asiyo
We are pleased to welcome back Cantor Shira Stanford-Asiyo from Vancouver this year. In addition to her beautiful voice, she brings a wealth of knowledge and much energy to our community. She will lead our services with Rabbi Laurie and members of High Holiday Song.

Panel Discussions
This year, with gratitude to the Jewish Federation of Madison, we received a grant to hold two panel discussions on Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur.

In-Person Gatherings
After consulting with our COVID-19 committee of healthcare professionals and public health experts, we have decided to hold three outdoor, in-person gatherings. On the first day of Rosh Hashanah we will have a discussion on themes of the holidays following services. On the second day of Rosh Hashanah we will offer multiple tashlich ceremonies with shofar blowing. On Yom Kippur morning a member will lead a meditation gathering. We will adhere strictly to Dane County public health guidelines. To ensure that we keep our groups small, registration is required.

We hope you’ll join us!
