Programming for Children

Our children’s programming seeks to nurture a strong sense of Jewish identity and commitment to Jewish customs and community. Our intergenerational services, holiday celebrations, and educational programs provide meaningful and fun opportunities to take part in congregational life and engage our children and families in Jewish life and customs.

Our children’s education program, Gesher, meets twice a month on Sundays. In addition, students in third through sixth grades meet with a Hebrew tutor once a week.

Kesher is our program for children who are three to four years-old. Kesher means connection, and this is an opportunity for parents and children to connect with others in a welcoming Jewish environment. This program is open to members and non-members.

Programming for Teens

Our Bnei Mitzvah program helps train our 12 and 13 year-olds in preparation for their bnei mitzvah.

Our Teachers’ Assistant program trains our teens to be teachers and gives them valuable leadership skills.

Our teen programming offers varied opportunities for our teenagers to spend time with their peers and get involved in the congregation.

Shabbat and Holiday Celebrations

Throughout the year we hold children’s and family services. Rabbi Laurie tells stories, and our children and teens lead parts of the service. This is a meaningful way to engage families in Jewish prayer and to allow them to experience Shabbat and holidays in community.

During Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur adult services, we have special children’s services and teen discussions led by Rabbi Laurie and others.

Our child-friendly holiday celebrations include Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukkah, and Purim. We also hold a large family Passover Seder.
