REGISTRATION
This year, we are requiring registration for all of our High Holiday events. Please register for the events you plan to attend.

Rosh Hashanah Day 1

9:00 a.m.

• Services (in-person + online) – Our Zoom space opens at 8:45 a.m. The service begins at 9:00 a.m. and lasts a little over three hours. Feel free to come and go as you please.
• Tot/Preschool Services, 0-4 years old (in-person only) – Children's services will be led by our community song leader, Aviv Kammay, along with Shaarei Shamayim parents. They will be held in Courtyard classroom A/B at the First Unitarian Society. Enter through the Atrium doors.
  Please register separately for children's services.

10:00 a.m.

• K-5th Grade Services / 6th-8th Grade Discussion / 9th-12th Grade Discussion (in-person only) – Children's services will be led by our community song leader, Aviv Kammay, along with Shaarei Shamayim parents. They will be held in Courtyard classroom A/B at the First Unitarian Society. Enter through the Atrium doors. We will also have discussions for 6th-8th graders and 9th-12th graders beginning at 10:00 a.m.
  Please register separately for children's services and discussions.

12:30 p.m.

• Rosh Hashanah Discussion and Lunch (in-person only) – Community members will facilitate a discussion on renewal and forgiveness immediately following the morning service. We will provide bagels, cream cheese, hummus, and coffee. We will provide gluten-free rolls for those who cannot eat gluten. Feel free to bring a side to share.

3:00 p.m.

• Tashlich (in-person only) – Tashlich, which literally translates to “casting off,” is a ceremony held on the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah. During this ceremony, Jews symbolically let go of their wrongdoings of the previous year by tossing pebbles or bread crumbs into a natural body of water.
  
  We will hold an in-person tashlich gathering near a member's home at 3:00 p.m. on the first day of Rosh Hashanah and then walk to a lake. There's no need to register in advance. The location (TBD) will be published in our newsletter and Happenings. If you do not receive these, please contact the office for the location. Bring some bird seed or pebbles (better for the wildlife than bread) and spend some time outdoors with others.
