2021-22 Membership Renewal Form

Congregation Shaarei Shamayim is remarkable. Although much of the last year has been marked by Zoom, social distancing, and masking, this community came through. We still celebrated and prayed - albeit in a way that seemed unfamiliar at first. We offered a record number of adult education classes, and most of our havurot (fellowship groups) continued to meet. We continued to hold committee meetings, making decisions that have allowed our community to thrive. We welcomed 21 new member households and continue to grow every day. And vitally, you all were generous, not just with your time but with your resources as well. Because of you, Shaarei Shamayim is healthy from a financial perspective, not something every faith-based organization can say. As we transition to in-person events, especially the upcoming High Holidays, we once again ask you to renew your financial commitment to our community.

Shaarei Shamayim is an inclusive congregation. Together we have created a space where we connect to our Judaism and our community, educate our families and ourselves, celebrate lifecycle events, and work together for a better world. We have created a rich and diverse community while turning no one away for economic reasons.

Keeping our community strong means that we all have to do our part through renewing our membership, paying our fair share, donating extra when we can, and volunteering when we are able.

Next month we will welcome the Jewish year 5782. As you plan for the fall and a hopeful return to normalcy, we ask you to consult the dues guidelines below to assure you are paying your share. Please consider increasing your dues if you can to help keep our community thriving during this transition time and in the coming years.

L'Shalom,

Annual financial commitments are Shaarei Shamayim's main source of revenue. They fund our staff salaries, adult and youth education, social action projects, ritual services, and holiday celebrations. Your financial commitment is based on your individual gross income. Please see our dues guidelines below. Membership runs from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022.

Dues Guidelines

At Shaarei Shamayim no one is turned away because of an inability to pay the published membership commitment levels. In case of need, please contact the office at 608-257-2944 or email office@shamayim.org to discuss your situation with us.

Please consider adding a voluntary 5% increase to your membership dues this year to support the Sustain Our Future campaign.
All members have access to an online directory in the member-protected section of our website.
The bi-weekly Social Action email shares events/causes in and around Madison. The Acts of Caring list receives infrequent emails to provide meals, rides, and/or visits to members in need.

Please confirm the following information on your account. If corrections are needed, please make them below.
Provide first and last name of deceased, relationship to you, and date of death (mm/dd/yyyy).
The Hebrew date is not always the same each year because the Jewish calendar differs from our secular calendar. Please choose which date you would like to observe for your yahrzeit(s).

Upon hitting the submit button, you will be directed to a payment confirmation page where you can enter your credit card/banking information and payment schedule or indicate that you will submit payment by check. Payments shall be completed in a single sum or recurring charges by August 31, 2022.
