Parking at the First Unitarian Society (FUS) is available on a first come basis only for evening services.

  • Erev Rosh Hashanah (Sunday evening, September 29, after 5:00 p.m.)
  • Kol Nidrei (Tuesday evening, October 8, after 5:00 p.m.)
  • Yom Kippur (Wednesday evening, October 9, after 5:00 p.m.)

There is limited parking available for those who have an official disabled parking permit or license plate on a first come, first served basis at every service. With the exception of this parking, there is absolutely no parking at FUS weekdays. Please do not try to park in the parking lot. These spaces are reserved for others and you will be asked to move your car.  We strongly encourage you to bike, bus, or carpool.

If you drive, please plan to park at one of the alternate parking areas - see parking map.

When you arrive, head directly to an alternate parking location. We will have parking coordinators (wearing orange vests) at the FUS lot, but they will only be there to direct you to an alternate location. It will greatly help ease the congestion at FUS and the burden on our parking coordinators if you head directly to an alternate parking location. You will need to plan on a short walk to FUS. There is no parking on University Bay Drive along the First Unitarian Society until after the stop sign at University Bay Drive and Colgate Road. Alternate parking locations are Marshall Court, Cornell Court, and the Shorewood swimming pool parking lot.

Please print a parking pass ahead of time.

If you put a parking pass on your dashboard, the Shorewood police will not enforce the one hour parking limit on University Bay Drive past the stop sign at Colgate Road. A parking pass does not allow you to park in anywhere that says no parking. Our parking coordinators will be handing out parking passes, but it will be faster if you bring your own. The parking pass must be on your car's dashboard showing through the windshield.

A final note: We realize that the parking situation can be frustrating, so please allow enough time so you are not rushed. Our volunteers and staff are working hard to make sure that parking goes as smoothly as possible -- please treat them with kindness and respect! (They would rather be inside the building too.)
